This device is ideal for vascular examinations in the wards / clinics. Ideal to evaluate vascular insufficiency.
Ideal for diabetes care or diabetes clinics.
The 8mhz waterproof probe is connected to the handheld doppler device via a USB port.
The probe is compatible with all Contec handheld pocket doppler devices which we sell. It is equipped with a mini USB plug, compatible with the Pocket Doppler machines.
This probe is used for a vascular peripheral examination by doctors / sonographers and will most likely not be used by patients themselves.
Note: The doppler device used is the same as the “Fetal doppler device“, but with a different, 8 MHz, doppler probe.
What is a doppler device?
A vascular Doppler device is a medical diagnostic tool used to evaluate blood flow. It uses ultrasound waves to detect the speed (and in certain cases direction) of blood flow through blood vessels.
Vascular Doppler devices are commonly used to:
- Assess blood flow in arteries and veins: The device can help identify blockages or obstructions in blood vessels that may be causing poor blood flow or reduced circulation.
- Monitor blood flow during surgery: Surgeons may use a Doppler device to monitor blood flow during procedures such as bypass surgery, angioplasty, or endarterectomy.
- Diagnose conditions affecting blood flow: A vascular Doppler (such as this portable or pocket doppler device) may be used to diagnose conditions such as peripheral arterial disease (PAD), deep vein thrombosis (DVT), or varicose veins, such as in certain diabetic conditions.
- Evaluate pregnancy: A fetal Doppler, another type of vascular Doppler, can be used to listen to the fetal heart rate during pregnancy.
Overall, the vascular Doppler is a non-invasive, safe and effective way to evaluate blood flow and diagnose conditions that affect circulation.
